Sonsharae Owens Selected for Community Food Security Awards

The Hartford Advisory Commission on Food Policy has selected Goodwin student Sonsharae Owens as the 2017 winner of the Community Food Security Awards, youth/individual category. She is currently enrolled in Goodwin’s Environmental studies program, pursuing her bachelor's degree. These awards highlight successful food, nutrition, and health programs that increase food security in the Hartford area. They recognize community individuals and organizations that contribute to the health and well being of Hartford’s residents and neighborhoods. For her work coordinating for the community garden program in Hartford and supervising up to seven workers, Sonsharae will be recognized at a March 15 ceremony at the Hartford History Center in the Hartford Public Library, 500 Main Street. Congratulations, Sonsharae, on this tremendous honor!
