Click It or Ticket Campaign Starts November 19

With Thanksgiving upon us, Connecticut’s law enforcement agencies are promoting safe driving for the protection of all motorists. The East Hartford Police Department reminds us to Click It or Ticket. Officers are issuing citations to drivers and passengers who are not using seatbelts. The campaign runs November 19 to 26. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, seat belts saved 14,668 lives in 2016, but if everyone had worn seat belts on every trip that year, 2,456 more lives could have been saved. That’s why participating law enforcement agencies will be taking a no-excuses approach to seat belt law enforcement. In Connecticut, the penalty for a seat belt violation is $92.
