Scam Alert from Campus Safety and Security

Tips from Campus Safety and Security

Rich Vibberts shared the following items: A phone scam has been reported in the East Hartford area. “Apple Tech Support” calls or leaves a message from 916-233-0160 claiming there is a problem and asking victims to call a 1-800 number. EHPD detectives warn that it’s a scam. Hang up; don’t give access to your computer, passwords, or financial information; don’t call them back!
Also the EHPD is investigating several leads in a series of car burglaries that occurred in October. Lock your vehicles, especially at night, and call the police to report any suspicious activity in your neighborhood.
