A reminder to all Goodwin
students and employees to visit the Optical Training Store on the first floor
at 403 Main Street. Summer hours of operation are Mondays and Wednesdays, 1 to
5 p.m., from May 9 to August 10. All that’s required for your visit is an
eyeglass prescription, dated within one year. The store is a hands-on learning
experience for Goodwin’s third semester Ophthalmic Science students, under the
direct supervision of a licensed optician/instructor. Services include eyewear sales and consultations, minor repairs, and cleaning and adjustments of eyewear. For more information,

Focus on Savings: Optical Training Store Announces Summer Hours
On Tuesday night, at the Connecticut River Academy gym, the Goodwin College Basketball team defeated the Assumption College Greyhounds, 77-74 in overtime.
The win puts the Navs in a first-place tie with UMass Lowell, at 14-3 on the season.
On April 2nd, the team travels to UMass Lowell for the regular season finale against the River Hawks. The winner of that contest will be crowned the New England Conference Champions, and gain an automatic birth into the National Tournament in Pittsburgh, PA next month.

Congratulations to Captain Mike Hemingway (Sr. New Britain - BS Public Safety and Security) on being named the NCBBA's New England Region Player of the Week.
During the weekend of March 5, the Goodwin Navigators basketball
team traveled to Saratoga, NY, and swept Skidmore College in a 3-game series.
In February, the Navigators hosted Sacred Heart University and swept that
3-game series as well. Goodwin hosts UMass Lowell on Thursday, March 10, 6 p.m. at the Connecticut
River Academy. The River Hawks are a game in front of us in the standings
(10-2, we’re 9-2), and ranked 5th in the country. If the Navs win the New
England Conference, we will represent the Region in the Nationals, later in the

New Excel Course Begins This Summer
The Computer Literacy Department would like to announce a new
course dedicated to Excel beginning in the summer. This course is designed to
develop students’ expertise managing Excel spreadsheets, leading to preparation
to take the related Microsoft certification examination upon completion. The
class is open to everyone who has passed CAP110 and Foundational Math or by
departmental permission. For any questions regarding the course, please
