The University of Hartford’s College of Education, Nursing, and Health
Professions presents Leadership in a Diverse Society on Thursday,
November 13, 2014, 5 to 7 p.m. in the Wilde Auditorium, University of Hartford,
West Hartford. Social scientists are uncovering how human thoughts and feelings
that occur outside of conscious awareness influence perception, judgment, and
action. This fundamental understanding is critical for developing leaders for
it is unconscious attitudes and biases that undermine best efforts for
inclusion. Researcher and guest speaker Crystal Hoyt will share findings about
stereotyping, hidden prejudices, and how leaders can be more mindful in their
approach to diversity. There is no charge; however, registration is required.
