INTERESTED IN BECOMING A PEER TUTOR?
The Academic Success Center and Math Lab are looking for Peer Tutors for the following classes: BIO 120, BIO 211, BIO 212, CHEM, CAP 110, MATH 125, and MATH 135. Students who are interested must have received an A- or higher in the particular class that they would like to tutor, and must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or greater. Any students who are interested should email their resumes to Surbhi Patel at ASCStaff@goodwin.edu, specifying what class(es) they are interested in tutoring.
Digital
Commons recently notified Goodwin College that it currently
ranks third among the most popular institutions in the Online and Distance
Education Commons section for the month of December. The institutions
on the list were Fayetteville State University, North Carolina, and Sacred
Heart University. Specifically, Mark Fazioli’s dissertation,Effects
of Personalized Narration on Learner Motivation in a Web-Base Environment, was one of the top ten most downloaded items
in Online and Distance Education for December. Congratulations to Mark and
Goodwin’s Digital Commons team on this great accomplishment! If you have

The deadline for
submission for The Beacon IV has been extended to January 20.
The editors are seeking contributions of creative writing from Goodwin
students, faculty, and staff. Poetry, short stories, creative non-fiction, and
excerpts from larger bodies of creative work are welcome. To be considered for

The Online Studies department has scheduled the spring semester “How
to Learn Online Using Blackboard” sessions for both new and existing
students on Tuesday, January 13, in the Community Room. Two sessions to choose
from: 10 to 11 a.m. or 6 to 7 p.m. Students who may not be able to attend these
sessions can access an Online Orientation at http://www.student-pd.org/orientation/index.htm.

Food Pantry orders for the week of December 22 will be available for pick up on Tuesday, December 23, after 3 p.m. The Food Pantry will be closed beginning Wednesday, December 24, and will reopen Monday, January 5.
