You are cordially invited to attend the second annual Goodwin College Dental Hygiene Table Clinic Presentations on Wednesday, December 7, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the main campus lobby at One Riverside Drive. Second-year dental hygiene students will showcase their beautiful table displays and will informally present on a number of oral-systemic related topics such as the impact of periodontal disease on heart disease, what exactly is hidden in toothpastes, and how the simple act of kissing can put your teeth at risk! Come join us and learn just how much your oral health impacts your overall health.

MOTORIST ADVISORY EAST HARTFORD SCHEDULED RAMP CLOSURE

Weekend Closure of Exit 55 from I-84 Westbound to Route 2 Eastbound, Beginning Saturday Morning, November 19, 2016, and ending Sunday afternoon, November 20, 2016, in East Hartford

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the planned weekend closure of Exit 55 from I-84 westbound to Route 2 eastbound, beginning on November 19, 2016, weather permitting.  The exit will be closed from 3:00 AM Saturday morning to 6:00 PM Sunday afternoon.  

The closure is necessary for the replacement of Bridge 02374 as part of the ongoing work associated with the $22 million bridge replacement and rehabilitation project within the Route 2 / I-84 Interchange, being performed by the Brunalli Construction Company.

To Route 2 Eastbound from I-84 Westbound: Motorists will be directed to take Exit 54 from I-84 westbound to Route 2 Wwstbound to Exit 3, Right onto Darlin Street, left onto Pitkin Street and right on to Jayce Street to Route 2 eastbound.

Bookstore Hours

The Goodwin College Bookstore will be closed on Friday, November 4, for computer software upgrades. This closure may impact students purchasing textbooks for Module 2 Fall courses. Books are currently in stock for all Module 2 courses, and students may place book orders online at www.goodwin.bkstr.com. Any online orders placed during the November 4 closure will be filled on re-opening of business Saturday, November 5. For questions, please contact the Bookstore at 860-727-6721.

CRT Steps to Success Assistance Available at Goodwin

The Community Renewal Team (CRT) in Hartford transforms lives through resources, programs, and services that resolve urgent needs; support in times of crisis; and empowering people to create their own opportunities. CRT fosters independence and skill building while guiding individuals, families, and communities toward long-term, stable, and more successful futures.

During November and December, CRT will be offering their Steps to Success holistic case management onsite at Goodwin College to address a wide range of needs and challenges and to help students build better futures for themselves and their families.

Students may see a CRT case manager in the Student Services Suite, room 217, One Riverside Drive, at the times listed below. No appointment necessary:

The Hoffman Family Library is pleased to announce that DigitalCommons@Goodwin has passed the 10,000th download mark! Digital Commons shares the scholarship of the Goodwin community with the world. So far, the most popular publication is Dr. Katherine Kalagher’s The Invasion of the Flapper: How the College Women of the 1920s Transformed the American College Experience with 1,946 downloads, followed by the Human Services capstone paper The Affects of Peer Pressure on Adolescents, and a General Education student article, Assisted Suicide: Should You Have The Right to Choose?
