Scam Alert from Campus Safety and Security
Tips from Campus Safety and Security
Rich Vibberts shared the following items: A phone scam has been
reported in the East Hartford area. “Apple Tech Support” calls or leaves a
message from 916-233-0160 claiming there is a problem and asking victims to
call a 1-800 number. EHPD detectives warn that it’s a scam. Hang up; don’t give
access to your computer, passwords, or financial information; don’t call them
back!
Also the EHPD is investigating several leads in a series of car
burglaries that occurred in October. Lock your vehicles, especially at night,
and call the police to report any suspicious activity in your neighborhood.
Health Sciences Career Fair — November 17
Career
Services invites students and alumni to Goodwin College’s Health Sciences
Career Fair on Thursday, November 17, 4:30-7 p.m. in the Community Room. A
variety of healthcare organizations and companies including acute care
hospitals, medical practices, and clinics will be on campus to share employment
opportunities and potentially recruit for open positions! RSVP as soon as
possible at http://www.goodwin.edu/forms/career-fair/. You are also welcome to
bring one guest. We look forward to seeing you at this important event!
Police Training on Campus — November 1-3
Please be aware that Goodwin College will host approximately 100
police officers from throughout the state for a number of training sessions, from
Tuesday, November 1, through Thursday, November 3. While most will be in casual
civilian clothes, some may be in uniform with badges and perhaps carrying
firearms. In addition, there will likely be a considerable number of police
cars on campus. We wanted the assure the community that the College is
aware of their presence and happy to welcome our friends in law enforcement.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation. Please contact Rich Vibberts at 860-913-2023 or rvibberts@goodwin.edu with questions.
