Police Training on Willowbrook Street Thursday July 21st
Please
note: The East Hartford Police Department SWAT team will be using two vacant
Goodwin houses on Willowbrook Street today, July 21, for movement drills around
11 a.m. Signage will be posted in the area to inform the community that it is
training ONLY. There are no students present or classes being held in the early
Childhood Magnet School area.
On Wednesday, July 20, Christina M. Rau, author of WakeBreatheMove
and For The Girls, I, will present a reading of her poetry in the
Auditorium at One Riverside Drive from 11 a.m. to noon. WakeBreatheMove
is available through Finishing Line Press. For The Girls, I is available

recommended to be prepared for being off-line for three full
hours. Blackboard will also be affected and will be rebooted sometime
during this window of time. Please be advised to save all work before 6 p.m. if
you are working in the Blackboard shell. Thank you in advance for you
patience and cooperation.

A note from the Nursing program
Please be aware that the National League for Nursing (NLN) has raised
its exam fee to $23.
Goodwin College’s Optical Training Store summer hours are in
effect now through August 10: Monday and Wednesday, 1 to 5 p.m., at 403 Main
Street, East Hartford. If you haven’t experienced this terrific resource, plan
to stop in. Don’t miss out on sunglasses, reading/computer glasses, driving
glasses, and multi-focal glasses. Services are provided by Goodwin College
Ophthalmic Science students under the direction of a licensed

Director of Campus Safety and Security: Please note that in cooperation with the Town of East Hartford,
Goodwin College will be allowing the East Hartford Police Department to use one
of its properties on Willowbrook Drive for training today, July 7, from
approximately 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Signs will be posted accordingly and no
disruption to campus traffic is expected.
