CHANGES TO BLACKBOARD LOGIN
CONSTRUCTION ALERT - Closure of Rte 2 W Exit 2W Ramp Begins Jan 11
Please note: The Connecticut Department of Transportation has
announced the planned closure of Route 2 Westbound Exit 2W Ramp to the Founders
Bridge beginning January 11, 2016 through the anticipated completion in
November 2016. The bridge’s proximity to the Goodwin campus could affect
traffic conditions and flow. We encourage everyone to plan
accordingly. The DOT website can be found http://www.ct.gov at for
updates. LANE CLOSURE INFO: Lane closures on Route 2, I-84,
and associated ramps may occur nightly between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.
Times will vary based on the day of the week and location of the closure. Lane
closures on adjacent streets and unassociated ramps may occur Monday to Friday
9 a.m. to 3 p.m daily, or 6 p.m to 6 a.m. nightly. Intermittent ten minute
traffic shut downs between the hours of 12 a.m. and 5 a.m. are anticipated on
I-84 Eastbound near Exit 55 for demolition and girder installation
activities. Periodic weekend closures of the I-84 Eastbound Connector from
Founders Bridge and connector from I-84 Westbound to Route 2 Eastbound are also
anticipated and detours will be implemented. DETOUR INFO: Route
2 Westbound: Motorists will be directed to take Exit 3 to Pitkin Street to
Darlin Street to the Route 2 Westbound on-ramp (Founders Bridge). Pitkin Street
has been re-stripped to accommodate additional traffic.

Textbook Buyback
Join us for textbook buyback Tuesday, December 15, through
Saturday, December 19. Buyers will be set up in the lobby in front of the
bookstore and will offer cash for your unwanted
textbooks. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 9 am to 6
pm; Friday, 9 am to 4 pm; Saturday, 9 am to 12 pm. Check
the value of your textbooks before you arrive by visiting

Accrediting Commission Seeks Comment on Goodwin College Dental Hygiene Application
Goodwin College is seeking accreditation of a dental hygiene
program from the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA). Interested parties
are invited to share comments concerning the accreditation of this program with
the Commission by January 31, 2016 by sending them to the Commission on Dental
Accreditation, 211 East Chicago Avenue, Chicago, IL 60611. The Commission
stipulates that comments must be signed, and signatures will be removed from
comments prior to forwarding them to the program. Comments must pertain only to
the standards for the particular program or policies and procedures used in the
Commission’s accreditation process. More information about the Commission’s
accreditation process is available on request by contacting the Commission at
the above mailing address, or 1-800-621-8099, extension 4653. A site-visit is
scheduled at Goodwin March 29-30, 2016.
On February 1, 2, and 3, the RN-to-BSN program at Goodwin College will have its initial accreditation visit by CCNE*. CCNE policy requires that institutions provide an opportunity for the program’s identified communities of interest (e.g. students, alumni, faculty, employers, etc.) to provide comments to be considered by the CCNE evaluation team. Third-party comments will be accepted by CCNE until January 8, 2016. CALL FOR STUDENT TUTORS
The Academic Success Center and Math Lab are looking for tutors in all sciences, all math, and Spanish. Candidates should be energetic and willing to provide motivation, encouragement, and academic support to fellow students. To become a tutor, students must hold an overall GPA of 3.0 and have received an A or A- in the courses they wish to tutor. The ASC has a flexible schedule, but tutors must be able to work Tuesday and Wednesday from 2:45 to 4:15 p.m. on a consistent basis. will be down from 6 to 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 3, to add an
