Community Renewal Team Launches Early Head Start Program at Goodwin
Community Renewal Team (CRT), one of Connecticut’s largest
providers of early childhood education, is opening the region’s first Early
Head Start program at Goodwin College. This program will provide high quality,
licensed infant-toddler care at no cost to the parent. The hours of operation
will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, year-round. Diapers, most
formula, and baby food are included in the program. A number of priority
spaces are being held for children of Goodwin students and employees,
regardless of hometown. The program serves children from 6 weeks to 3 years
old. Pregnant moms who hope to use Goodwin Early Head Start are encouraged to
apply. Children with special needs are welcome. Some income restrictions and
need qualifiers apply. An Enrollment Specialist will be at Goodwin
College to answer questions on November 18 and 25 from 9 a.m. to noon in the
main lobby at One Riverside Drive. To enroll or get more information:
call the ECE Enrollment Office at (860) 560-5401. To read more, go to: http://www.crtct.org/en/need-help/education-a-youth/infanttoddler-day-care

PRATT & WHITNEY CONSTRUCTION – WILLOW ST.
Please note that beginning November 9, Pratt & Whitney will be
making some changes in the flow of local traffic as part of the construction of
its new global headquarters. There will no longer be public access to Willow
Street (Cabela’s, Pratt & Whitney Stadium) through the P&W
property. This is unlikely to affect traffic on the Goodwin campus, but please
keep in mind that delays are a possibility throughout the project, which is
expected to continue through late 2017.
